S 9516: Relates to the exemption of certain parcels of land from the licensing restrictions prohibiting manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers of alcoholic beverages from sharing an interest in a licensed premises.
The bill amends the alcoholic beverage control law to exempt certain parcels of land from licensing restrictions for manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers of alcoholic beverages. Specifically, it exempts a plot of land in Manhattan, bounded by Greene Street, Prince Street, Mercer Street, and a party wall, from the restrictions. The exemption applies to licensed manufacturers and wholesalers who have acquired an interest in the parcel prior to the bill's effective date. If a retail licensee acquires an interest in the parcel, they must obtain a leasehold upon sale or transfer of the parcel. The subparagraph will expire and be deemed repealed unless the licensee obtains a leasehold. The state liquor authority will notify the legislative bill drafting commission of any changes to the parcels to maintain an accurate and timely effective data base of the laws of the state.
