S 9620: Requires residential health care facilities to maintain hospice agreements to ensure access to hospice services for eligible residents.

These agreements must address key aspects of care, including timely evaluation and referral, roles and responsibilities of facility staff and hospice personnel, interdisciplinary care planning, medication management, after-hours communication, and documentation and information sharing. The department will provide guidance and technical assistance to support implementation, and failure to comply with the requirements will be considered a violation. The legislation will take effect 100 days after it becomes a law, and regulations necessary for implementation can be made effective immediately.
