SB 331: Allow certain public hospitality employees to accept gratuities
This bill allows certain public hospitality employees to accept gratuities in recognition of services performed in the course of their public employment. The term "public hospitality employee" includes employees who work at publicly owned facilities such as parks, pools, golf courses, hotels, theaters, and other similar establishments. The employees can accept gratuities without claiming them as a credit toward the minimum wage rate or paying them less than other employees in similar positions. The gratuities are considered earnable salary for purposes of calculating employee compensation and benefits.
