A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Winton Woods High School girls basketball team on securing the 2025 Division II State Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to applaud the Winton Woods High School girls 2
basketball team as the 2025 Division II State Champion; and 3
WHEREAS, The Winton Woods High School girls basketball team is 4
made up of remarkable athletes who have worked diligently to showcase 5
the collective talents of their exceptional squad. At this year’s 6
Division II State Tournament, the Warriors won the state crown with a 7
score of 70-55 to cap an undefeated season and claim their first title 8
in program history, and the members amply demonstrated impressive 9
determination, maturity, and finesse in pursuit of this achievement; 10
and 11
WHEREAS, This triumph reflects the staunch resolve of these young 12
individuals, and it signifies the acquisition of valuable experience 13
that is sure to benefit them in later life. Thanks to the tireless 14
efforts of the exceptional Winton Woods High School girls basketball 15
team coaching staff, including Head Coach Carlton Gray, as well as the 16
support of their Warrior community, these athletes have met the 17
demands of an extensive training regimen, and they have just cause for 18
celebration; and 19
WHEREAS, All those who comprise the Winton Woods High School girls 20
basketball team have set an excellent example of what a dedicated 21
group of athletes can achieve when guided by a committed coaching 22
staff and surrounded by loyal fans, sports families, and boosters. 23

These young competitors have certainly proven themselves to be dynamic 24
athletic leaders, and we are confident that as they meet future 25
challenges, they will take with them the valuable lessons they have 26
gained through their participation in basketball; therefore be it 27
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 28
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Winton 29
Woods High School girls basketball team on its 2025 Division II State 30
Championship title and count its players and coaches among the ranks 31
of outstanding Ohioans; and be it further 32
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 33
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Winton Woods High School 34
girls basketball team. 35
