The resolution urges Ohio's stakeholders, governor, and the US Congress to invest in the security, reliability, and resiliency of the state and national interconnected electric grids against natural and man-made threats. The grid is critical infrastructure relied upon daily by every citizen, and its reliability and resiliency are paramount necessities. The grid is vulnerable to threats from both natural occurrences and man-made threats, and despite recommendations for improvement, no action has been taken. The resolution suggests adopting legislation like New Jersey's "microgrid pilot program act" to address concerns surrounding electric grid diversification and security. The resolution encourages the governor and Congress to take the threat posed by the grid seriously and invest resources to increase grid diversification and site security.
