SR 171: In memory of Jack Cera.
The resolution honors the memory of a deceased individual, Jack Cera, who made a significant impact on the lives of those around him. He was a dedicated public servant, serving in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1983 to 1996 and again from 2011 to 2020. Jack Cera was also a leader, serving as the minority whip in 2016 and working as the workforce development director for the Belmont County Department of Job and Family Services. He was a generous and talented individual who displayed exceptional concern and insight in all his endeavors. The resolution pays tribute to his personal character and ethical center, and acknowledges the void left by his death.

A RESOLUTION
In memory of Jack Cera.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1 of Ohio are pleased to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family 2 and friends of Jack Cera on the sorrowful occasion of his death; and
WHEREAS, Jack Cera left an indelible impression on the people 4 whose lives he touched, and he will be remembered as a spirited 5 individual who contributed immeasurably to the world around him. A 6 member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 1983 to 1996 and from 7 2011 to 2020, he served on numerous standing, select, and special 8 committees and in leadership as the Minority Whip in 2016, and he also 9 worked as the workforce development director for the Belmont County 10 Department of Job and Family Services, a member of the Jefferson 11 Belmont Regional Solid Waste Authority, and the senior vice president 12 of Sunday Creek Horizons. In addition, he volunteered with such 13 organizations as the Belmont County Port Authority Board and Planning 14 Commission, the Bellaire Public Library and Park District boards, and 15 the Bellaire and East Ohio girls softball associations, and he 16 received numerous honors and awards for his myriad contributions. 17 Indeed, he will be remembered for his generosity, talents, sense of 18 humor, quick wit, and seemingly inexhaustible energy; and 19
