A RESOLUTION

Honoring Kaitlyn Carr on winning a 2025 Division IV State Cross Country Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1 of Ohio are pleased to commend Kaitlyn Carr as the 2025 Division IV 2 State Champion in girls cross country; and

WHEREAS, A diligent and capable individual, Kaitlyn Carr is 4 deserving of recognition for her exemplary accomplishments as a member 5 of the Smithville High School girls cross country team. An exceptional 6 athlete, she placed first at this year's Division IV State Meet with a 7 time of 17:29.19, and her notable record of personal achievement 8 stands as a hallmark for others; and

WHEREAS, Through her participation in sports, Kaitlyn Carr has 10 learned important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and 11 good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her 12 throughout her life. Through her outstanding efforts, she has inspired 13 countless people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and she has 14 set an example worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of 16 our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards 17 of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable 18 educational tool. With sports contributing to the development of 19 countless youth, we are delighted to congratulate such a fine athlete 20 as Kaitlyn Carr; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 22 Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to Kaitlyn 23 Carr on winning the 2025 Division IV State Cross Country Championship 24 and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 26 authenticated copy of this Resolution to Kaitlyn Carr.
