A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Julia Shafer on winning three 2025 Division II State Championship titles in swimming.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Julia Shafer as a 2025 Division II 2
State Swimming Champion; and 3
WHEREAS, A remarkable athlete, Julia Shafer has combined talent 4
and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship 5
to establish herself as a standout member of the Cincinnati Hills 6
Christian Academy girls swim team. With admirable dedication, she has 7
worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in her sport, 8
and as a result, she won first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a 9
time of 50.77 and the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 10
2:01.71 and helped the 400-yard freestyle relay team win first place 11
with a time of 3:28.38 and the 200-yard medley relay team in securing 12
second place with a time of 1:45.95 at this year’s Division II State 13
Championship meet; and 14
WHEREAS, Julia Shafer is a truly exceptional swimmer, and her 15
accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a 16
justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but 17
also on her family, her teammates, her coach, her school, and her 18
community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the 19
respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of 20
commendation; and 21
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 22
in the total education of our young people, we are incredibly proud to 23
applaud Julia Shafer on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity 24
and experience she has gained through her participation in swimming 25
will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; 26

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 28
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Julia Shafer on 29
her personal success and salute her as one of Ohio’s finest young 30
citizens; and be it further 31
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 32
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Julia Shafer. 33
