A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Orrville Public Library on its One Hundredth Anniversary.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Orrville Public Library as it 2
commemorates its Centennial; and 3
WHEREAS, This is, indeed, an important occasion, and 4
congratulations are certainly in order. Established on February 3, 5
1925, in a vacant room of the high school, the Orrville Public Library 6
has experienced tremendous growth and prosperity over the past 7
century, and it has tirelessly served as a place for inspiration and 8
discovery for innumerable people; and 9
WHEREAS, The Orrville Public Library has become one of the 10
community’s most valuable public resources by offering numerous 11
collections, local events, and a statewide network of partnerships. 12
Thanks to the generous efforts of a host of area citizens, it remains 13
an outstanding facility for its patrons as well as an exciting hub of 14
language and learning that connects people through a variety of 15
programming; and 16
WHEREAS, Those who have nurtured, directed, and sustained the 17
Orrville Public Library merit praise for their remarkable initiative, 18
diligence, and resolve. With a wealth of vision and vitality, they 19
have shown how very much can be accomplished by a group of 20
conscientious, industrious people, and they can be proud that their 21
unflagging commitment to literacy, education, and volunteer service 22
has made it possible for the library to flourish; therefore be it 23
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 24
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Orrville 25

Public Library on its One Hundredth Anniversary and look with optimism 26
to a bright future; and be it further 27
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 28
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Orrville Public Library. 29
