By participating in sports, the team members have gained discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives. The resolution pays tribute to the team and honors all those who contributed to their success, and a copy of the resolution will be transmitted to the Indian Valley High School football team.

Honoring the Indian Valley High School football team on securing the 2024 Division IV State Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Indian Valley High School 2
football team as the 2024 Division IV State Champion; and 3
WHEREAS, The members of the Indian Valley High School football 4
team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be 5
exceptional competitors by concluding a phenomenal season with a 6
perfect 16-0 record and a thrilling appearance at the 2024 Division IV 7
State Championship. The Braves won the school’s first state football 8
title with a 37-36 victory against a determined Perkins team, and the 9
unwavering commitment of the players and coaches has earned them the 10
esteem of many. They are certainly deserving of high praise; and 11
WHEREAS, Coach Matt Lancaster has demonstrated remarkable energy, 12
enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Indian Valley High School 13
football team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad’s 14
outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the 15
members have distinguished themselves on the field, and he has 16
received respect and admiration for shepherding the team to the 2024 17
Division IV state crown; and 18
WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future 19
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and 20
the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has 21
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the 22
Indian Valley High School football team have gained discipline and 23
perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives; 24

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 26
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the 27
Indian Valley High School football team as the 2024 Division IV State 28
Champion and honor all those who contributed to the success of this 29
fine squad; and be it further 30
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Indian Valley High School 32
football team. 33
