AB 1022: Authority to remove vehicles.
This bill aims to modify the authority of peace officers and public employees to remove vehicles under certain circumstances. The bill would remove the power to remove vehicles from off-street parking facilities when the owner or person in control has not responded to 5 or more parking violation notices within 5 days. Additionally, the bill would eliminate the provision for immobilizing vehicles on public lands when the owner or person in control has not responded to 5 or more parking violation notices within designated time periods. The bill would also repeal the provision for impounding vehicles in these situations.
