AB 1061: Housing developments: urban lot splits: historical resources.
This bill aims to amend the government code to regulate land use in California. The bill requires local agencies to consider the historical value of a proposed development when ministerially approving or denying it. If the development is not located in a historic district or property, the agency must consider it separately. The bill also allows local agencies to adopt objective standards to maintain the historical value of a historic district. Additionally, the bill requires local agencies to ministerially approve urban lot splits if they do not require the demolition or alteration of historic structures.
