AB 1062: Local control funding formula: concentration grants: charter schools: waiver.
What AB 1062 does, verified February 3, 2026
This bill allows charter schools to apply for a waiver to calculate their concentration grant based on their percentage of unduplicated pupils in excess of 55% of their total enrollment, rather than the current limitation. The waiver would be granted if the superintendent of public instruction determines that the charter school meets certain conditions. The superintendent would need to develop guidelines and procedures for the waiver process.
