Politics.AIAB 1245: State contracts: certification process: forced labor and human trafficking.
This bill requires contractors and subcontractors to certify that they comply with specific requirements related to human trafficking and forced labor. For contracts exceeding $550,000, the contractor must provide a certification that they have implemented a compliance plan and have conducted due diligence to prevent specified prohibited activities. The contractor must also disclose information about any violations to the contracting officer and the state agency with oversight. The bill authorizes additional sanctions, including removing a contractor employee from the performance of the contract, terminating a subcontractor, and suspending contract payments, if the contractor fails to comply.
