AB 1366: Reimbursement for pharmacist services.
This bill aims to improve reimbursement for pharmacist services in the Medi-Cal program. Currently, pharmacist services are reimbursed at 85% of the fee schedule for physician services, except for medication therapy management (MTM) services. The bill would require the rate of reimbursement for advanced practice pharmacist services to be the same as the fee schedule for physician services, including MTM services. The bill also introduces an MTM reimbursement methodology for the use of drugs to ensure Medi-Cal payments are only made to eligible advanced practice pharmacists or pharmacies for MTM services provided with certain specialty drug therapy categories.
