What AB 1569 does, verified August 20, 2026

<p>The bill requires the State Department of Education, in consultation with the California Highway Patrol, to develop a standardized safety and training program for students in grades 7 to 12 by March 1, 2028. The departments are encouraged to collaborate with local agencies that have existing electric bicycle training programs to incorporate best practices. Local educational agencies and parent organizations are also encouraged to offer training demonstrations on electric bicycle operations in partnership with local law enforcement or government entities.</p>
