AB 1750: School employees: absences due to illness or accident.
What AB 1750 does, verified May 16, 2026

This bill amends existing laws regarding school employees' absences due to illness or accident. Currently, after exhausting all sick leave, an employee who remains absent for up to five additional months receives either the difference between their salary and what a substitute earns, or at least half of their regular salary.

The bill proposes that such employees receive their full salary during these five months instead. It also makes several related changes to ensure clarity and consistency in the law.
