AB 1811: Health professionals.
The bill defines a health professional shortage area to include an area with a shortage of health professionals, a federally recognized shortage area, or an area designated or recognized by the US Department of Health and Human Services as of January 1, 2025. This definition applies until January 1, 2035. The bill aims to address health workforce shortages in California and other areas. It does this by expanding the scope of federally recognized health professional shortage areas to include areas designated or recognized by the US Department of Health and Human Services as of January 1, 2025.
