AB 1931: Insurance: home protection companies.
<blockquote> <p>This bill establishes a license for home protection contract limited lines agents who are authorized to transact contracts through utilities starting July 1, 2027. Agents must submit an application and certificate of trustworthiness to the commissioner. The bill allows vendors to collect fees on behalf of agents if these fees are listed separately from utility charges and a customer inquiry number is provided.</p> <p>It requires home protection contracts to include specific disclosures and mandates that vendors act in good faith and provide certain disclosures when offering contracts. The commissioner can impose penalties for violations.
