What AB 2131 does, verified March 25, 2026
This bill would exempt general acute care hospitals from certain seismic safety building standards if the hospital building is a freestanding building used exclusively to provide extended hospital care to patients with complex medical and rehabilitative needs. The exemption would only apply if the hospital building met the required seismic standards prior to January 1, 2021.
