AB 2184: Cap-and-Invest Program: nature-based climate solutions: funding.
The bill aims to support the state's climate goals by providing funding for nature-based climate solutions. It authorizes the annual appropriation of $250,000,000 from the greenhouse gas reduction fund from 2027-2028 to 2045-46 fiscal years to achieve these solutions. This funding will be allocated as follows: $150,000,000 to the natural resources agency to fund nature-based climate solutions on natural, working, and urban lands, and $100,000,000 to be allocated by the legislature at its discretion. Additionally, $150,000,000 will be allocated to the department of food and agriculture to fund sustainable agricultural practices and nature-based climate solutions.
