AB 2195: Child support: license suspensions.
This bill aims to amend the child support law to expand the prohibition on including income information in lists sent to licensing authorities. The existing law prohibits the department from including income information for support obligors with annual household income at or below 70% of the median income for the county, but only for noncommercial driver's licenses. The new bill would extend this prohibition to all licensing authorities, including boards that issue licenses for businesses, occupations, or professions, and to commercial driver's licenses. The change would take effect on January 1, 2027.
