AB 2242: Pupil safety: sextortion informational poster.
The bill aims to improve pupil safety by requiring schools to display informational posters about sextortion. Pupils in grades 7 to 12 will be notified of the policy and the poster will be displayed in at least one men's restroom, one women's restroom, and one all-gender restroom. The poster will contain age-appropriate information about sextortion and contact information for local, state, and federal law enforcement. A model template of the poster will be developed and posted on the state's internet website for local educational agencies to use. Reimbursement for costs mandated by the state will be made if the commission on state mandates determines that the bill contains such costs.
