AB 2269: Vehicles: liens.
What AB 2269 does, verified April 22, 2026
This bill would amend the law regarding vehicle liens in California. Currently, there are two different procedures for selling liens on vehicles with values under or over $4,000. The bill would increase the value threshold from $4,000 to $7,000. Starting January 1, 2030, and every three years thereafter, the threshold would be adjusted annually to reflect changes in inflation. This change would simplify the process for lienholders and make it easier to sell liens on vehicles.
