AB 2650: CalSavers: retirement savings.
This bill expands the definition of an eligible employer to include household employers, allowing them to participate in the retirement savings program. The program will provide payroll deposit retirement savings arrangements for eligible employees, and employers will be required to offer these arrangements to their employees by a certain date. The program will include establishing an IRA for participants eligible for federal or state retirement benefits, a payroll deposit emergency savings account, and notifying participants 30 days prior to creating these accounts. The board will also assess the feasibility of multi-state or regional agreements to administer the program.
