AB 2730: City building disposal.

California · Assembly · 2025–2026 Regular Session · last verified February 24, 2026

What AB 2730 does, verified February 24, 2026

This bill makes nonsubstantive changes to the existing procedure for cities to sell public buildings and sites dedicated to a public use. It requires cities to adopt a resolution of intention, receive protest to the sale, and hold a special election on the proposition of the sale. This procedure is an alternative to other authority for cities to dispose of city-owned property. The changes made by this bill are minor and do not add or remove any substantive requirements.
