What AB 287 does, verified December 7, 2025

This bill amends a section of the elections code to require governing bodies to provide adequate space for voting operations and storage of associated supplies at polling places and vote centers. The governing body must instruct the school district or public administrator to provide the necessary space, which must include adequate parking for voters and those who need assistance.

The existing law requires the district administrator to provide free parking for precinct boards and voters, but this bill expands that requirement to include accessible parking spaces and curb-side parking for assisting voters, if requested by the elections official.
