AB 296: Career technical education: sale of equipment: registry.
The bill aims to improve career technical education programs in California by creating a registry of career technical education equipment for sale. The registry will be maintained by the state department of education and made accessible to school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools. Local educational agencies can list their equipment in the registry, which must be offered for sale to other agencies for at least 3 months. The registry will help reduce waste and promote the sharing of equipment among educational institutions. The provisions will expire on January 1, 2032.
