California · Assembly · 2025–2026 Regular Session · last verified August 25, 2026

What AB 387 does, verified August 25, 2026

The bill aims to improve youth sports safety by ensuring athletes have access to an automated external defibrillator (aed) during official practices or matches. Athletes must have access to an aed either at a location where one already exists or at a public or private local facility used for youth sports programs. These facilities must procure and maintain the aed and provide access to the youth sports organization.
