AB 534: Transitional housing placement providers.
What AB 534 does, verified December 13, 2025
This bill would require a contract for transitional housing placement providers or program-plus providers to have an initial term of 3 years, with the option to renew for 2 additional 1-year terms. If the contract has been renewed for 2 additional terms, it could be renewed for 10-year terms. Counties would have the authority to terminate a contract or portion of services with at least 90 days' notice to the contractor. The bill would also establish new requirements for counties, imposing a state-mandated local program.
