AB 575: Obesity Prevention Treatment Parity Act.
This bill aims to improve health care coverage for individuals with obesity. It requires health care service plans and insurance policies to cover at least one anti-obesity medication and intensive behavioral therapy for obesity treatment without prior authorization. The coverage must be included in plans issued, amended, or renewed after January 1, 2026. The bill also aims to prevent willful violations of these provisions, which would be considered a crime.
