California · Assembly · 2025–2026 Regular Session · last verified December 7, 2025

What AB 670 does, verified December 7, 2025

This bill amends the government code to require annual reports on housing development, demolition, and replacement. Starting with the 2027 report, the reports must include information on new housing units, demolished units, and replacement housing units. The bill also allows planning agencies to include units converted to affordable housing with long-term affordability covenants and restrictions, which must provide affordable housing for at least 55 years. Additionally, the bill incorporates changes to section 65400 of the government code, which will be operative only if this bill and another proposed bill are enacted.
