California · Assembly · 2025–2026 Regular Session · last verified August 15, 2026

What AB 710 does, verified August 15, 2026

This bill would require the Public Utilities Commission to require electrical corporations to offer dynamic pricing tariffs by January 1, 2028. The commission would also need to analyze the feasibility of deploying advanced metering infrastructure to all customers by January 1, 2028, and develop a plan for its deployment by January 1, 2029, if feasible. Violating the commission's requirements would be a crime, and this bill would impose a state-mandated local program. The bill would not require reimbursement for specified costs.
