AB 726: Planning and zoning: annual report: rehabilitated units.

California · Assembly · 2025–2026 Regular Session · last verified December 6, 2025

What AB 726 does, verified December 6, 2025

This bill would require a local agency to include in its annual report the number of units of existing deed-restricted affordable housing within a specified affordability threshold that have been substantially rehabilitated with at least $60,000 in funds. The report would need to include this information by April 1 of each year. Units included in the report would not be considered when determining affordability requirements for streamlined approvals. Additionally, the bill would make a nonsubstantive change to update a reference to the office of land use and climate innovation.
