AB 889: Prevailing wage: per diem wages.
This bill aims to amend the prevailing wage law in California. It would remove the exception allowing for annualization of employer payments made to workers on public works projects. The bill would allow employers to take full credit for hourly amounts contributed to defined contribution pension plans, even if the employer contributes at a lower rate or makes no contributions to private construction. To receive the credit, employers must prove that their payment calculations are accurate and provide payment records. The labor commissioner would have the authority to deny the credit if these requirements are not met.
