AB 934: Community colleges: degrees and certificates: education plans.
The bill requires community colleges to award degrees and certificates retroactively to students who meet certain requirements. These requirements include completing the necessary units to receive a degree or certificate, needing a limited number of units to complete a degree or certificate, or completing general education transfer requirements. Community colleges must notify students who meet these requirements before the start of the spring term. Starting in the 2026-27 academic year, community colleges must identify students who do not have an education plan and ensure they receive a plan before the end of their first academic year.
