<blockquote> <p>This bill amends California's unclaimed property law by increasing the time period for escheatment of all forms of property to seven years from the last contact with the owner. It requires the state controller to maintain the property in its original form after escheatment and allows owners to receive interest on their claims starting from the day they file until the property is returned.</p> </blockquote>
