This bill aims to improve the regulation of alcoholic beverages by requiring courts to prohibit individuals convicted of driving under the influence from purchasing alcohol for a period of time. The court must consider certain factors when imposing the prohibition. The department of motor vehicles will issue identification cards or driver's licenses with a designation indicating the individual is prohibited from purchasing alcohol. To sell or furnish alcoholic beverages, individuals must request and review evidence of majority and identity. Violations of this requirement will be considered misdemeanors.
