This bill aims to improve the state highway system's wildlife connectivity by requiring the department of transportation to review and address wildlife needs throughout the state. The department must undertake a duty to develop a comprehensive approach to protect, conserve, and improve the state's unique wildlife, landscapes, and natural resources. The bill requires the department to include wildlife connectivity assets in its asset management plan and to jointly establish an inventory of connectivity needs with the department of fish and wildlife.
