SB 1284: Medi-Cal benefits: employer reports.
This bill requires the California Health and Human Services Agency to prepare a report on employers in California that employ 50 or more employees and have any employees receiving Medi-Cal benefits. The report must include the annual cost to the Medi-Cal program provided to each identified employer's employees and their dependents enrolled in the program. The report must be submitted to the legislature by July 1, 2027, and annually thereafter. The report will not include individually identifiable information about employees or Medi-Cal enrollees, which is exempt from disclosure under the California Public Records Act. The bill also authorizes data-sharing agreements between the California Health and Human Services Agency and the Employment Development Department.
