<p>This bill makes several changes to existing laws related to local government in California. It requires the public administrator in the county to be elected by the people, rather than appointed by the board of supervisors. The bill also updates the county clerk's office to use gender-neutral language and makes technical changes to various provisions.</p> <p>The bill updates the notice required for recordation of certain documents, such as deeds and mortgages, to be sent to the current assessee's address rather than the previous address used for tax bills.
