This bill aims to improve support for students with dependent children in public postsecondary education. It expands the definition of basic needs services and resources to include childcare services and resources. Campuses must now establish a basic needs center to provide students with dependent children with direct financial and service support, including childcare services and resources. The bill also requires campuses to provide students with dependent children with information on the campus' childcare development center and childcare offerings, as well as a referral to the campus' basic needs center and financial aid office.
