SB 33: Public contracts: claim resolution.
This bill extends the claim resolution process for public contracts until further notice, allowing local agencies to continue conducting reasonable reviews of claims made by contractors in connection with public works projects. The process involves providing written statements identifying disputed and undisputed portions of the claim within 45 days. The bill also applies to charter cities and counties, as well as cities. The state will reimburse local agencies for any costs mandated by the state if the commission on state mandates determines that the bill contains such costs.
