SB 338: Virtual Health Hub for Rural Communities Pilot Program.

The state is establishing a virtual health hub program to expand access to health services for farmworkers in rural communities. The program will provide grants to partnerships of community-based organizations to establish and deploy virtual health hubs. These hubs will include computers, Wi-Fi, cubicles for virtual visits, and exam rooms for telemedicine. The grants will be distributed based on criteria, such as a history of serving medically underserved communities. The program will require the grant recipients to deploy virtual health hubs in two rural communities based on farmworker population and access to healthcare. The state will monitor the program and submit a report to the legislature two years after its implementation.
