SB 508: California Environmental Quality Act: transportation impact mitigation.
the california environmental quality act requires a lead agency to prepare and certify an environmental impact report for projects that may have a significant effect on the environment. for projects with a significant transportation impact, a lead agency can mitigate this impact by contributing to the transit-oriented development implementation fund. the bill requires that contributions to the fund be deemed full and complete mitigation for the portion of the project's transportation impact mitigated by the contribution. additionally, the bill makes related findings and declarations about the importance of implementing these provisions.
