SB 632: Community colleges: California College Promise.

This bill would establish a new workers' compensation system for hospital employees who provide direct patient care in acute care hospitals. It would define "injury" to include various conditions such as infectious diseases, cancer, musculoskeletal injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder, and respiratory diseases. The bill would create rebuttable presumptions that these injuries arose out of and in the course of employment, including conditions like COVID-19. These presumptions would extend for specified time periods after the employee's termination of employment.
