SB 656: Small business: small business liaison.
This bill aims to support small businesses, disabled veteran enterprises, and minority business enterprises in California. It establishes a small business advocate office to provide information and resources to small businesses and to evaluate the efforts of state agencies to assist these enterprises. The bill requires state agencies to designate a small business liaison and to submit certain information to the advocate, including a list of contracts with small businesses. The bill also increases the annual participation goal for disabled veteran business enterprises and minority business enterprises in state contracts. Additionally, it expands the participation goal for minority business enterprises to all contracts for construction, professional services, and other goods and services.
