SB 688: Office of Regulatory Counsel.
The proposed legislation establishes the Office of Regulatory Counsel within the Governor's Office, under the direction of a director appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. The Office will be responsible for drafting and assisting in the preparation, consideration, amendment, and repeal of regulations for state agencies. The Office will review proposed regulations before they are submitted to the Office of Administrative Law for publication in the California Regulatory Notice Register.
