SB 754: Menstrual products: disposable tampons and pad products: concerning chemicals.
This bill requires manufacturers of disposable tampons and pad products to maintain information regarding the concentrations of specified chemicals in their products. The department of toxic substances control will determine and publish on its website additional concerning chemicals in disposable tampons or pad products. Manufacturers must provide technical documentation and test results for these chemicals upon request from the department. The department can conduct its own tests or contract with third-party laboratories for testing. Manufacturers must pay for the costs of testing. Charges collected by the department will be deposited into a fund for purposes of implementing the provisions, including chemical testing and oversight of manufacturers' compliance.
