SB 756: California Film Commission: motion picture tax credits: tracking and compliance program.
The bill requires the California Film Commission to collect additional data related to motion picture tax credits, including definitions, reporting templates, and metrics. The commission must adopt these requirements in consultation with industry stakeholders and experts to reduce nonresponse rates. The commission will address noncompliance with the data collection requirements through existing enforcement conditions and procedures. The commission must also publish an annual compliance report summarizing the collected data, trends in diversity and economic impact, and recommendations for program improvements.
